Red lentil soup

500 g red lentils


1 carrot

2 onions

2 garlic


2 l water

ready in 45 Minutes


  1. Wash the lentils well with cold water several times to remove the starch. 
  2. Peel the potatoes, carrots, onions and garlic, clean and chop as small as possible.
  3. Bring the water to the boil and add the vegetables, lentils, salt, pepper and broth. 
  4. Simmer on low heat for 30 minutes with the lid on.
  5. Stir frequently to keep the lentils from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  6. After half an hour, melt the butter over medium heat, add the tomato paste and herbs and roast for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add to the soup and cook for another 5 minutes. 
  8. Blend the soup with a hand blender until smooth and season again with salt and pepper.
  9. Serve with lemon and bread.
